One day, God called one of his children and gave him a beautiful bird. This bird was so beautiful it never left the presence of God until it was handed over to this child of God. God greatly love the bird and was reluctant to hand over the beautiful bird to this his child, but because he loved this son of His more, He gave him the beautiful bird to keep and take good care of for a while.

God told the man that He was traveling but could only trust his own son to look after the beautiful bird. He pleaded with him to take good care of the beautiful bird until He returned. He warned that on no condition should the beautiful bird be beaten or abused. He charged his son that even if the bird offends him; he should wait to report it to Him when He comes back, but that he should never raise his hands against the beautiful bird. God added that it would bring shame to His name if anything bad happens to the beautiful bird. The young man promised God that he will take good care of the bird and would not allow the name of His Father to be brought to shame. With this assurance, God took His journey having made provision for all the needs of his son and the beautiful bird.

The first few days were really great with the beautiful bird. The son and the bird played together and enjoyed each other company. However, after a while, they both offended each other and the boy being stronger, beat the beautiful bird. This continues for a long time until the beautiful bird eventually died. Then God returned and asked His son where His bird was. The son, looking distressed, said that the beautiful bird was dead. God was angry with His son. He told His son that everything he had ever wanted was inside that bird. God said He decided to keep all his blessing inside the bird to keep the enemy from stealing it. He said his son would have reigned with Him if he had taken good care of the beautiful bird. God then commanded His Angels to take the boy and lock him up where there will be gnashing of the teeth. 

This son wept bitterly, but it was too late. Suddenly, he woke up from sleep and discovered it was only a dream. Then He heard the Holy Spirit say to him, “My son, that bird you saw in your vision was your marriage”. 

Marriage is a very precious gift given to man by God. Marriage is not about the man, but about God. If you had understood this, there was nothing the beautiful bird did to you that you would not have forgiven it because it holds the key for you fulfilling God’s purpose on earth. Go now and mend the relationship with your wife before it is too late. The man got up and asked for his wife to forgive him and they have been living happily since that day.

Marriage is a great treasure. Believers bring shame to the name of God when they abuse or divorce their spouse. God will judge seriously those who are desecrating this sanctified institution of God.
